The Library Lady Rants: Happy New Year!

Pretty true at my house this AM--at least in terms of SC!
(Cats woke me at 7AM to be fed....)

The Cast of Characters

The Man (of the House): The love of my life. Severely addicted to books (that take up WAY too much space in our house) & raw garlic. We've been married 18 years, but involved for many more. Long story....

SC: Age 17 (how did that happen?) Book addicted like both her parents. Serious, but with a nice sense of humor. Well mannered in the eyes of the world, but at home,it can be another story--she's a teenager(!)

JR: Age 13 Bright, beautiful and struggling with teen angst.

The Beasts: Our 2 cats, both adopted from animal rescue. Bella is our 13 year old tabby queen. We still miss our sweet black tomcat Bart who died 7/5/12, but we welcomed little miss Molly, a sweet, funny "tuxedo" cat girl to our home this fall.

Me: Children's librarian by day, tired keeper of all of the above by night. When I think of my life, I think of Nicole Hollander (Sylvia)'s immortal line about things that are easier than combining a family and a career. Like swimming the Amazon covered in peanut butter....
